MUSCLE SHOALS, ALA. – Malcolm Singleton performed before a standing-room only crowd at Googie's Lounge last Friday in New York City, shortly before going on stage he was told that he would be performing at one of New York City's most popular venues, the Cutting Room on August 24 at 8:00 p.m. Located at W. 24th and Broadway, the Cutting Room past performers include Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones and Vanessa Carlton.
Drawing inspiration from a number of genres, Malcolm's musical style cannot be classified; it is unique and innovative. Malcolm gets some of his song writing influences from European bands. He joined his first band in the seventh grade, and has been performing ever since. His songs have won numerous songwriting competitions; two of his award-winning songs, "Counting On You" and "I'm Over You" are included on his debut CD, "This Feeling", which was produced by Eddie Martin and Daniel Beard. The project features Malcolm playing every instrument and singing all lead and background vocals.
Malcolm is a graduate of UNA and also attended the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Mass. His resume includes an internship with Rounder Records, also located in Boston, Mass.
